Formula E, Sportrik Media - Antonio Felix da Costa and Jaguar TCS Racing have emerged as a leading force in the 2026 Formula E season, with growing belief following consecutive victories, including a strategic win at the Madrid E-Prix.
The triumph at Circuito del Jarama underlined the team’s operational precision, particularly through a well-timed Pit Boost undercut that elevated da Costa from third on the grid to victory. This result followed his earlier win in Jeddah, making him the only driver to secure multiple victories so far in the final Gen3 campaign.
Such momentum echoes da Costa’s championship-winning form with DS Techeetah during Season Six. His rapid integration within Jaguar and the competitiveness of the package have been central to this resurgence, enabling him to optimise energy management and execute race strategies effectively—key performance differentiators in Formula E.
In the current standings, da Costa remains firmly in contention despite trailing former team-mate Pascal Wehrlein by 19 points. With 11 rounds remaining, the title fight remains open, particularly given the unpredictable and tightly balanced nature of the championship.
"Yeah, good question. Probably Season Six, when I won that championship with DS," said da Costa.
"I remember joining that team, and everything felt very natural. The car was fast, I was driving well, and the relationship with my team and team-mate was strong."
"And now I feel like I’ve found that again. It’s light, everyone is aligned, and the team understands the importance of balance away from racing. That’s helping me perform."
Jaguar’s package is widely regarded as one of the most competitive on the grid, particularly in terms of efficiency and strategic execution. This technical stability has provided da Costa with a consistent platform to challenge at the front, reinforcing his position as a genuine title contender.
"We always believe," da Costa added regarding his championship prospects.
"Even in previous years, I believed. Most seasons I’ve been close to the front or leading the championship, and now we’re back in that position again."
With momentum, experience, and a competitive car aligned, da Costa now enters a decisive phase of the 2026 campaign. Maintaining consistency across the upcoming rounds will be critical if he is to convert this opportunity into a second Formula E title, as the series approaches its transition to the Gen4 era.
