As Formula E navigates a significant generational shift following the conclusion of the Gen3 era, Antonio Felix da Costa has firmly dismissed any immediate thoughts of retirement. The all-electric world championship recently bid farewell to two of its founding stalwarts, Sebastien Buemi and Lucas di Grassi, who decided to hang up their helmets after more than a decade of pioneering electric motorsport.
Drivers like Buemi and Di Grassi laid down the foundational roots of the series since its inaugural season back in 2014. Having joined the championship just one race later in Season 1, da Costa shares a deep historical bond with the outgoing champions. Speaking candidly ahead of the season finale in London, the veteran driver paid heartfelt tribute to Di Grassi, acknowledging his immense contributions to the growth and global profile of the championship.
"It is a massive loss in many areas," da Costa told Motorsport Week in an exclusive interview. "As a human, he’s a great human being, a family man, a man of faith. He has helped this championship in so many ways. The driver group, the team group, the series group. He is essentially driver number zero of this series."

Despite turning 35 during the off-season and welcoming a fresh wave of rookies into the paddock, da Costa remains a vital pillar of the Jaguar lineup. His stellar victories in Jeddah and Jarama during the previous campaign proved that his outright pace and racecraft are as sharp as ever, successfully capping off a strong debut year with his current team.
When directly asked about his own career timeline amid the influx of younger talent transitioning from FIA Formula 2, the Portuguese racer offered a reassuring smile and a clear message to his fans. "No! You’ll see plenty of me," he smiled. "I am far from retiring – don’t worry!"
