Andretti was stripped of what appeared to be its first-ever Formula E one-two finish after the final classification of the Sanya E-Prix was revised several hours after the chequered flag due to a series of steward decisions.

Jake Dennis initially led celebrations for the American team after securing victory on Hainan Island ahead of team-mate Felipe Drugovich. The result had marked a landmark achievement for Andretti, delivering both its first Formula E front-row lockout and its first one-two finish.

However, the outcome changed significantly when Drugovich was handed a five-second time penalty for causing a collision involving Pascal Wehrlein. The sanction dropped the Brazilian driver from second to fifth in the final classification.

The revised result also reshaped the podium positions. A previously issued five-second penalty for Nyck de Vries was removed, promoting the Dutch driver to third. Meanwhile, rookie Pepe Marti inherited second place, securing the best Formula E result of his career.

Further steward action affected several other competitors. Marti's Cupra Kiro team-mate Dan Ticktum received a 10-second time penalty for contact with Mitch Evans, along with an additional three-place grid penalty for the Shanghai E-Prix after failing to slow sufficiently during red-flag conditions.

The penalties also increased Ticktum's disciplinary tally, with three penalty points added across the two incidents. He now sits on nine penalty points, just three away from triggering a race ban. Elsewhere, Zane Maloney was given a three-place grid penalty and two penalty points for speeding under red-flag conditions.

Apart from driver sanctions, DS Penske received a €2,500 fine after one of Jean-Eric Vergne's side wheel covers was left on the dummy grid before the race start. Drugovich, Wehrlein and Antonio Felix da Costa also each received one penalty point as the steward decisions significantly altered the official outcome of the Sanya E-Prix.
