Alonso Lopez secured pole position for the Moto2 race at MotorLand Aragon on Saturday afternoon, setting a 1'49.405 lap to edge out Izan Guevara and Daniel Holgado. Meanwhile, Collin Veijer impressed with sixth place, Barry Baltus took seventh, and Zonta van den Goorbergh will start from P22.
Q1 was dramatic from the start. Tony Arbolino faced technical issues and spent most of the session in the garage. David Alonso initially set the pace before Alberto Ferrandez crashed, bringing out yellow flags. In the closing minutes, Joe Roberts stormed to the top with a 1'50.215, securing his Q2 spot alongside Filip Salac, Adrian Huertas, and Alonso.
It was a different story for Zonta van den Goorbergh. His strong FP2 form didn't carry over to qualifying, as the Dutchman could only manage eighth in Q1, relegating him to 22nd on the grid.

In Q2, Izan Guevara set the early benchmark with a 1'49.584. Collin Veijer was comfortably inside the top five after the first runs. However, the session was disrupted by a heavy crash for Taiyo Furusato at Turn 7, forcing him to sit out the remainder.
Ayumu Sasaki then crashed late on, causing more yellow flags. Amid the chaos, Barry Baltus improved to fifth, but he was also involved in an incident with Alonso Lopez and later with Daniel Munoz, both under review by race direction.
Lopez ultimately delivered with a 1'49.405 in the final laps. Guevara missed out by 0.179 seconds to take second, with Holgado completing the front row. Manuel Gonzalez and David Alonso were fourth and fifth. Veijer secured a second-row start, while Baltus in P7 awaits a decision on his incidents.
