Adrian Fernandez and his squad have successfully won their FIM International Court of Appeal case to overturn a heavy penalty that shook the lightweight class championship earlier this season. This shocking ruling sets aside the six-race disqualification initially handed down by FIM stewards in June, restoring both the competitive standing and the points of the rider.

The controversy began when the FIM's technical direction discovered that Leopard Racing had allegedly opened the seal on two of the team's engines without obtaining prior official authorization. This technical infraction led to Fernandez being disqualified from multiple marquee events, including the Thai, Brazilian, United States, Spanish, French, and Catalan Grands Prix, placing the entire organization under severe pressure.

Refusing to accept the initial verdict, the team immediately escalated the matter through an official appeal to the FIM International Court of Appeal. In an official statement issued in mid-October, the court declared the appeals admissible and upheld them on their merits, effectively annulling the previous decisions made by the FIM Appeals Commissioners and forcing sporting authorities to take necessary corrective measures.

The immediate implication of this ruling dramatically alters the championship standings, as Fernandez had previously dropped down to 14th place after losing 77 crucial points due to the original disqualification. Reinstating these results pushes him right back up to fifth place in the standings with 148 points, overtaking his rivals in the tightly contested championship hunt.

Addressing the favorable verdict, the team expressed profound gratitude to everyone involved in the legal battle. "We express our sincere gratitude to our experts, all the witnesses, and our legal team, who have restored the honour and dignity of the Leopard Racing team and its rider, Adrian Fernandez," the team stated. Meanwhile, the FIM Technical Commission retains the right to contest this decision within the next four weeks.
