Speaking directly after the calendar reveal, Wilson’s excitement was palpable and extended far beyond the sentimental return of the beloved Scottish gravel roads where he forged his professional career.
The strategic growth reaches well past the much-anticipated return of Rally US, finally incorporating one of the most pivotal automotive markets in the entire world directly into the WRC commercial portfolio. At its core, this milestone represents a monumental leap forward for the future stability and reach of the world championship.
For the first time in nearly two decades, the WRC calendar features up to 15 marquee events in a single season. Privately, within management circles, there is a clear acknowledgment that this total may still not be enough to satisfy global demand, especially given that past seasons reached 16 rounds with prior discussions even entertaining 18 events.

"There’s no way we could share the list, but I have to tell you that the interest to have a WRC eventg it’s fair to say the demand has never been so strong," Wilson stated regarding the unexpected and valuable new location discussions.
