The decisive Superpole session at the 2026 WorldSBK season finale at Jerez, Spain, is set to kick off at 11:15 local time or 10:15 BST, with Race 1 scheduled for this afternoon at 15:30. Tension fills the paddock as riders prepare to fight for prime grid positions to cap off an intense racing year.
Factory standout Nicolo Bulega enters Saturday holding strong momentum after topping both practice sessions on Friday at Jerez. The Italian rider was comfortably the fastest yesterday, and although he was beaten to the top spot by Alex Lowes in FP3 this morning, Bulega notably refrained from using an SCQ tyre, hinting at untapped pace for Superpole.
Meanwhile, Iker Lecuona also opted against running an SCQ tyre, but he struggled down in 17th place, over a second slower than his team-mate. Lecuona had already written off his victory chances yesterday, and the morning practice did little to boost his optimism heading into qualifying.

On a brighter note, Sam Lowes was in high spirits after finishing second in both practice outings. Having won twice here in Moto2, he traditionally performs well at this venue, admitting immense relief seeing his lap time improve early in FP1 following front-end feeling struggles throughout the Estoril weekend.
Amidst ongoing grid uncertainty, both Alvaro Bautista and Danilo Petrucci could be tackling their final Superpole appearance this morning. Petrucci confirmed this weekend that he has received an approach from Attack Performance Yamaha regarding a potential switch to MotoAmerica for the 2027 season.
