Formula 1 will stage the 2026 Bahrain Grand Prix at Sepang, Malaysia, from 2–4 October as Round 16 of the season. The event will retain the official Bahrain Grand Prix title after the original Sakhir date in April could not take place.
Sepang will step in as the host venue after previously staging the Malaysian Grand Prix through 2017. Despite taking place in Malaysia, the event will officially remain the Bahrain Grand Prix, with Bahrain covering the hosting costs.
The weekend will follow the traditional format, with three free practice sessions followed by qualifying and the race. FP1 and FP3 will take place at 11:30 local time, while FP2 and qualifying will run at 15:00.
The 56-lap race will begin at 14:00 local time on Sunday, 4 October. The Bahrain Grand Prix will therefore become the latest Formula 1 event to be staged at a venue outside the country named in its official title.
