MotoGP, Sportrik Media - The 2026 MotoGP pre-season reaches its conclusion this weekend with the two-day official test at the Chang International Circuit in Buriram, Thailand, marking the final preparations before the Thai Grand Prix opens the new campaign on 1 March.
Pre-season running began on 3–5 February at the Sepang International Circuit, where Alex Marquez set the outright pace aboard the BK8 Gresini Racing MotoGP Ducati. The Buriram test on 21–22 February will provide teams with their final opportunity to evaluate performance, refine set-ups and complete race simulations before the opening round.
All riders are scheduled to take part except Fermin Aldeguer, who continues to recover from a femur injury. Ducati test rider Michele Pirro will stand in for Aldeguer during the Buriram test and the Thai Grand Prix.
Meanwhile, 2024 world champion Jorge Martin is set to make his on-track debut for Aprilia Racing this weekend after being declared fit in Thailand. He missed the Sepang test following additional surgery in December.

Thailand local time and WIB share the same UTC+7 time zone, meaning session times are identical for Indonesian viewers.
There will be no live television coverage of the 2026 Buriram MotoGP test. Traditionally, only the post-season Valencia test receives live broadcast coverage. MotoGP’s official website will air a 90-minute edition of “After the Flag” at the end of each test day, summarising key developments and track action.
With limited track time remaining before competitive action begins, the Buriram test represents the final critical window for manufacturers to validate upgrades and confirm race configurations ahead of the season opener at the same venue.
